“I will complete my eight-year constitutional term as governor of Oyo State” — Makinde

Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, has declared that he will complete his eight-year constitutional tenure as governor of the state.

Makinde made the declaration on Friday, during a mega-praise and end-of-the-year Thanksgiving that was themed “Halleluyah” and held at the Government House Arcade in Agodi, Ibadan.

The mega praise drew dignitaries from all walks of life, including state government functionaries and other guests.

While speaking, Makinde said he was unconcerned about the opposition’s plans to form a coalition to depose him from the Agodi Government House in 2023.

He noted that 2023 is not about a new Oyo State but to consolidate on the already-laid foundation of the present administration in the state, which is about to take off, tagged “Omi Tuntun 2.0.”

Governor Makinde further said that as an engineer by profession, his work is to build, unlike an architect who draws, telling the opposition to stop dreaming.

He, therefore, said soon the roadmap for the sustainable development of the state from 2023 to 2027 and beyond will be communicated to the people.
