INEC office attack: “We will reward anybody with credible information with the sum of N2.5 million,” says Ogun Police Command

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Abeokuta South Local Government was set ablaze by criminals, and the Ogun State Police is prepared to reward anyone with N2.5 million for information regarding the perpetrators.

According to the DAILY POST, unknown hoodlums set fire to the INEC office at Iyana Mortuary in Abeokuta, the capital city of Ogun State, on November 10, 2022.

Over 600,000 permanent voter cards were burned during the incident, along with voting booths, ballot boxes, and other items.

The Commissioner of Police in Ogun, Lanre Bankole, has already ordered the state criminal investigation department to launch an investigation right away with the goal of identifying the perpetrators of the heinous act of arson.

In a statement by the Ogun State police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, it was revealed that the Command has decided to give N2.5 million as a reward to anyone who provides reliable information that results in the capture of the offenders.
